Our Stakeholders

Our Country

The Barada Kabalbara Yetimarala People’s native title area is located in Central Queensland, spanning significant land and waters across the region.

Our Country extends across areas within the Isaac, Mackay and surrounding regional local government areas. It includes land intersecting key regional centres, major transport corridors, pastoral leases and resource development areas. This is a landscape shaped by plains, waterways, bushland and working country, a region that continues to contribute to Queensland’s agricultural, infrastructure and resources sectors.

For the Barada Kabalbara Yetimarala People, Country is not defined by mapped boundaries alone. It carries cultural authority, ancestral connection and enduring responsibility. It holds our stories, our law, our sacred places and the knowledge passed down through generations. Our connection to this land has never ceased, and its recognition through native title affirms what has always been known.

Bulgan Tara Yanal Aboriginal Corporation carries the responsibility of managing and protecting these recognised rights on behalf of our People. This includes ensuring that cultural heritage is respected, that consultation occurs in good faith, and that engagement within our native title area acknowledges our ongoing connection and authority.

Our responsibility is not only to the present. It is to those who came before us and to those who will follow. We are committed to safeguarding Country in a way that strengthens cultural identity, protects heritage and creates sustainable pathways for economic and social participation.

Through strong governance and respectful partnerships, we work to ensure that future generations of the Barada Kabalbara Yetimarala People inherit a Country that remains culturally strong, legally protected and capable of supporting opportunity, leadership and self-determination.
